2.听听听听听听听听 ONLINE APPLICATIONS
Applicants should visit the 听then under 鈥�Application Process鈥� select 鈥�click to apply for a programme鈥� for further instructions.听
Applicants are advised to read application instructions as well as the contents of the online admissions brochure: very carefully before completing the online application form.听
3.听听听听听听听听 BASIC ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
Entry requirements for admission into programmes of study for both local and international students include the following:
a)听听听听听 WASSCE/SSSCE: 听Applicants should have credit passes in six (6) subjects with overall aggregate of 36/24 at the WASSCE/SSSCE respectively.
Three of the six subjects should be in English Language, Core Mathematics, Integrated Science or Social Studies and three must be in relevant electives.
听听听听听听听听听听听听听听听听听听听听听听听 For purposes of admission, a credit pass in:
i.听听 WASSCE means A1 鈥� C6
ii.听 SSSCE means A 鈥� D
b)听听听听听 General Certificate of Education (GCE) Advanced Level: Applicants should, in addition to credit passes in five (5) GCE 鈥極鈥� Level subjects (including English and Mathematics), have three (3) passes in the relevant subjects at the Advanced Level.
c)听听听听听听 General Business Certificate Examination (GBCE): Applicants should have credit passes (A-D) in six (6) subjects comprising three (3) core subjects (including English Language and Mathematics) and three (3) relevant elective subjects.
d)听听听听听 International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE): Applicants should have credit passes in five (5) GCE 鈥極鈥� Level subjects (including English and Mathematics) and three (3) passes in the relevant subjects at the Advanced Level.
e)听听听听听听 International Baccalaureate (IB): Applicants should have a minimum of grade 4 at the Higher Level in three (3) subjects relevant to the programme of choice (minimum of grade 5 for Health and Allied Sciences). Applicants should, in addition, have a minimum of grade 4 in English/Literature and Mathematics (SL).
f)听听听听听听 American High School Grade 12 Examinations. Applicants should have a Final Grade point of 3.0.
BACHELOR OF SCIENCE (MIDWIFERY)听 PROGRAMME FOR THE 2022/2023 ACADEMIC YEAR
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
- WASSCE/SSSCE: Applicants should have credit passes in six (6) subjects with overall aggregate of 36/24 at the WASSCE/SSSCE
Three of the six subjects should be in English Language, Core Mathematics, Integrated Science and three electives in Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Elective Mathematics.
For purposes of admission, a credit pass in:
- WASSCE means A1 鈥� C6
- SSSCE means A 鈥� D
Diploma Holders
Midwives with a good Diploma (a GPA of 2.5 or better with at least three (3) years post-qualification working experience will be considered for admission into Level 300 after passing an interview.
Candidates with degree in General Nursing, Diploma in General Nursing/Community Health Nursing with at least three (3) years post-qualification working experience will be considered for admission into Level 200 after passing an interview.
Other professionals with Nursing Certificate (SRN) and Certificates in Midwifery may be admitted into Level 200 after passing an interview.
4.听听听听听听听听 FEE-PAYING APPLICANTS
Fee-paying facilities are available for candidates/applicants who are unable to meet the competitive cut-off points determined by the Joint Admissions Committee.
Applicants who wish to be considered may complete and attach the fee-paying forms (available at the sales centres or downloaded from the university鈥檚 admissions portal) to their printed online application forms.听 Such candidates shall be required to meet the minimum admission requirements.听 Copies of last year鈥檚 cut-off points for the various programmes are available at the sales centres and the University鈥檚 website for applicants鈥� guidance.
5.听听听听听听听听 PRACTICAL EXAMINATIONS FOR B.ED (PHYSICAL EDUCATION) CANDIDATES
SSSCE/WASSCE candidates applying for B.Ed (Physical Education) should hold themselves in readiness for a practical examination.听 The date for this examination will be communicated in due course.
6.听听听听听听听听 SUBMISSION OF COPIES OF COMPLETED APPLICATION FORMS
(i) 听听听听听听听 One copy of the completed online application forms with copies of results slips should be sent by POST and NOT delivered by hand.
听听听听听听听听听听听 Copies of the completed online application forms should reach the Director, Directorate of Academic Affairs (DAA), 黑料社 not later than Wednesday, 7th September, 2022.
听听听听听听听听听听听 Applicants are to ensure that application forms are posted early enough to be received before the deadline for submission as forms received after the deadline will not be processed.
Applicants are required to provide the following information at the back of the large EMS envelope: (a) application reference number (b) full name (c) postal address (d) first choice programme and (e) application category which should be one of the following: SSSCE/WASSCE or Post-Diploma or Post First Degree or OTHER (to be specified by applicant).听 Applications on which APPLICATION REFERENCE NUMBERS are not indicated will not be processed.
(ii)听听听听听听听 No additional documents will be accepted after submission of completed application forms.听 Applicants are to note that only photocopies of certificates or result slips should accompany completed application forms.听 Original certificates/result slips of applicants offered admission will be inspected before registration.听 The documents accompanying the application forms are not returnable.
(iii)听听听听听听 Persons awaiting 2022 WASSCE results MUST select the 鈥淎waiting Results鈥� option before providing their examination details. Those who already have results SHOULD NOT select the 鈥淎waiting Results鈥� option but rather go ahead to verify their results.
(iv)听听听听听听 Application forms received without Application Reference Numbers, a copy of WASSCE/SSSCE results slip or transcripts, in the case of Post-Diploma and other applicants, will not be processed (this does not apply to awaiting results applicants).
A change of programme after the submission of application forms will NOT be allowed.听
