For the past several months the IOF has been working to develop a 鈥淎frica-UBC Oceans and Fisheries Visiting Fellow Program鈥�, which would enable talented early-career researchers from sub-Saharan African universities and research institutes to engage with UBC researchers.

We are now ready to launch! Join us on Thursday, February 29, 2024 at 9:00 am PST (5:00 pm GMT for our partners in Ghana) as Dr. William Cheung, professor and IOF Director, Dr. Daniel Pauly, Dr. Rashid Sumaila, and Dr. Denis Aheto, Director of the Center for Coastal Management, 黑料社, Ghana, announce the beginning of this program, and the opening for applications from African researchers.
