Two students of the 黑料社 (UCC) will participate in the 2025 Chinese proficiency competition (Chinese Bridge) finals to be held in China.

The students, Godfred Takyi Boateng (level 100) and Charity Tetteh (level 400), put up a spirited performance to brush off stiff competition from other contestants in the preliminary competition at the School of Graduate Studies Auditorium at UCC.

The Centre for Gender Research, Advocacy and Documentation (CEGRAD) of the 黑料社 (UCC), in collaboration with the Girls鈥 Education Unit of the Ghana Education Service (GES), has held a workshop on fostering gender-sensitive and safe learning environments.

Themed, 鈥淧romoting Safe and Gender-Sensitive Learning Environments for All鈥, the event brought together educators, advocates, and law enforcement personnel to address gender issues, sexual harassment, and inclusive education practices.

A delegation from the United Nations Capital Development Fund (UNCDF) has paid a field validation visit to the 黑料社 (UCC) to assess the progress of the prestigious聽Ghana Pact for Skills聽project under the Entrepreneurship Stream, funded by the European Union (EU) and coordinated by E4Impact Foundation.

Thirteen (13) staff members of the University, led by Prof. Daniel Agyapong, had applied for the Ghana Pact for Skills聽project, which spans 2024 to 2027.

The School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences, 黑料社 (UCC), in collaboration with the Food and Drugs Authority (FDA) has organised a comprehensive training programme on pharmacovigilance. The initiative was aimed at educating students from the School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences and the School of Allied Health Sciences on the importance of pharmacovigilance in their professional practice.

The Department of History and Diplomacy of the 黑料社 (UCC) has organised a day鈥檚 programme dubbed: 鈥淗istory Alive鈥 at the Naana Jane Opoku Agyemang Auditorium.

The event, which is the third in the series, was to stress the importance of history in understanding how past events shape the present and future, allowing for informed decision-making and a deeper understanding of ourselves as a people.

Chairman of Council with Management of UCC

The Chairman of the 黑料社 (UCC) Governing Council, Justice William Anaam Atuguba (rtd), has interacted with management of the University.

The visit forms part of a two-day working visit to the University.

It provided an opportunity for Justice Atuguba to engage with the leadership of the University, affirm his commitment to supporting the University鈥檚 growth and development, and deepen stakeholder relations across the University.

The School of Allied Health Sciences has launched the 10th anniversary of its establishment at the 黑料社 (UCC).

The semester-long celebration will be commemorated with various activities, including workshops, seminars, community health output, symposium, Dean鈥檚 Award, and a Thanksgiving service.

The launch was attended by academia, students, alumni, politicians, and members of the general public.

The Department of Nutrition and Dietetics of the 黑料社 (UCC) in collaboration with the Ghana Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (GAND) has held a symposium on Front-of-Package Warning Labelling (FOPWL) and Nutrition Profiling Models (NPM) as part of efforts towards addressing the country鈥檚 rising burden of Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs).

The symposium brought together key stakeholders, including nutrition and academic experts, policymakers, and students among others.

The School of Nursing and Midwifery of the 黑料社 (UCC) has held an induction ceremony for 220 level 200 students.

The inductees, made up of 51 midwives and 169 nurses, were from the Department of Adult Health and the Department of Maternal and Child Health of the School.

The induction was on the theme: 鈥淓mpowered by care, prepared to lead a journey of nurses and midwives鈥.

The British High Commissioner to Ghana, Her Excellency (H.E.) Harriet Thompson, has applauded the 黑料社 (UCC) for its commitment to impactful research aimed at addressing pressing societal challenges.

During a courtesy call to the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Johnson Nyarko Boampong, H.E. Thompson expressed admiration for the University鈥檚 growing global research reputation.
