An Assistant Research Fellow, Mrs Sika Abrokwah, at the (ACECoR),University听 of Coast, 听has begun a one-month fellowship programme with the (CEFAS) in the United Kingdom.
This fellowship is part of ACECoR鈥檚 staff capacity development programme funded by the . For her fellowship, she is also receiving support from the (OCPP) which is a UK Government-led programme under the Blue Planet Fund.

听Through the Ocean Country Partnership Programme, CEFAS, in partnership with (JNCC) and (MMO), provides technical assistance to support countries, including Ghana, to tackle marine pollution, support sustainable seafood practices, and establish designated, well-managed and enforced MPAs.
Within the one month, Mrs. Abrokwa will engage in knowledge exchange activities with marine litter experts at CEFAS. She will receive training on automated monitoring tools for marine litter detection as well as microplastic analysis techniques. The skills and knowledge she will acquire from this training will improve and enrich her marine litter research work and strengthen her capacity to develop and implement other projects within this area.
