Pro-Vice-Chancellor Ends Tour to Offices

The Pro Vice-Chancellor, Prof. G. K. T. Oduro has undertaken his third and final tour to both academic and administrative offices of the University to introduce himself and also familiarize with heads and other members of staff. 聽 The Pro-Vice-Chancellor and his team comprised the registrar, Mr. John Kofi Nyan, Acting Director, Directorate of Academic Affairs, Mr. Jeff T. Onyame, Acting Director, Directorate of Public Affairs, Major Kofi Baah-Bentum (rtd) and Administrative Secretary to the Pro VC, Mr. Nasir Y. Entsie. 聽The team visited the Directorate of Finance, Internal Audit, Printing Press, ATL FM and Institutional Advancement Office. 聽 At the Directorate of Finance, Prof. Oduro said finance was key to the efficient and smooth operation of the university but added that the growth of the University was accompanied by its attendant challenges. Therefore to ensure effectiveness and efficiency, the Pro-Vice-Chancellor said efforts should be made to reduce bottlenecks and bureaucracy to the barest minimum in this era of collegiate system. 聽 The next point of call for the Pro-Vice-Chancellor and his entourage was the Directorate of Internal Audit and they were received by the director, Mr. E.P Owusu. Prof, Oduro indicated that without audit the institution would not know whether it was doing the right things or not and asked that they applied the rules and regulations stringently as required of them. 聽 Interacting with the management of the Printing Press, Prof. Oduro averred that universities the world-over become well known through their printing houses. Citing examples in Cambridge and Oxford universities, the Pro-Vice-Chancellor said, 鈥淭he Printing Press is in the heart of the university visibility agenda, therefore you must work hard for the university to become world-acclaimed鈥, he stressed. 鈥淎gain as the university gradually moves towards being weaned of government subvention, this press house has a key role in the mobilization of internally generated funds鈥, he stated.

The Pro-Vice-Chancellor and his team moved to ATL FM where they were also taken round the various offices as well as the studio by the management of the radio facility. Prof. Oduro commended the station for the quality of their output and exhibition of professionalism in their presentations. Station Manager, Kwabena Antwi-Konadu thanked the Pro-Vice-Chancellor for the visit and added it has really served as huge motivation for the staff since 鈥渢hey feel belonged and for me, it is most heartwarming鈥. He promised that they would not relent in their quest to promote the 黑料社brand and image. 聽 At the Institutional Advancement Office (IAO) the Pro-Vice-Chancellor was received by Mr. Solomon Faakye (Esq.). Prof. Oduro told staff of the IAO that the office was the face of the university; therefore they should endeavor to be nice to all manner of persons they encounter in their duties. 鈥淲hoever comes here must leave smiling even if his or her requests are not met鈥 He tasked the office also to ensure that all prospective alumni go out with a strong feeling and attachment, which would make them want to come back to their Alma mater. 聽 聽
