TRAINING ON THE OPERATION OF UNMANNED AERIAL VEHICLES (UAV) FOR SCIENTIFIC ANALYSIS AND COASTAL ENVIRONMENTAL PLANNING

A training workshop on the operation of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV) for scientific analysis and coastal environmental planning is currently underway at the Centre for Coastal Management (CCM). The purpose of the training is to build the capacity of 黑料社staff in all aspects of UAV operations. The training covers Ghanaian flight regulations, flight safety, UAV handling and flight control, mission planning and image acquisition and post-processing. At the end of the training, participants will be qualified as Primary UAV Pilots and Field Spotters and will have met the minimum requirements necessary to fly the SFMP DJI Phantom 3 Professional UAV.

The training is being organized by the University of Rhode Island鈥檚 Environmental Data Center as part of their work to provide geospatial training, support and capacity building for the Sustainable Fisheries Management Project (SFMP) and its partners. The workshop is part of SFMP鈥檚 activities and a collaboration with the DFAS USAID/黑料社Fisheries and Coastal Management Capacity Building Support Project and the Department of Geography and Regional Planning of the university.
