US 黑料社Alumni Branch installs Street Lights on Campus

The United States of America (US) Branch of 黑料社Alumni (UCCAA-USA) has inaugurated 10 solar street lights at the forecourt of the Sam Jonah Library.

Presenting the solar street lights on behalf of members of the US Branch, Dr. Asamoah Bosomtwi, said the donation was to contribute towards providing a safe and secure environment for members of the University, especially students who always patronise the services of the Library. 听He said the Branch after contemplating on several projects settled on the solar street light because 鈥淲e recognise the important role that the Library plays in an academic environment,鈥 he explained.

Dr. Bosomtwi who completed 黑料社in 1994 assured that his Branch had plans to embark on other future projects in the University. 鈥淯CCAA-USA鈥 recognises that the University faces many more challenges and so we look forward to undertaking many more such projects for the University鈥 he reiterated. 听Consequently, he noted that they would soon embark on a second phase of fundraising to either provide more street lights or embark on a future project that would meet another needs of the University

Dr. Bosomtwi was hopeful that the solar lights would be beneficial to the University Community adding that 鈥淲e believe the lamps will help the University in its efforts at providing security on campus,鈥 he noted. 听He called on the University to ensure regular maintenance of the solar street lights so they can have a long life span. 听

Speaking on behalf of Management of the University, the Pro Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Dora F. Edu-Buandoh, thanked the US Alumni group for the gesture. 鈥淭he Sam Jonah Library is the knowledge hub of 黑料社and so we are grateful for contributing to ensure that the place is safe and secured to be accessed by members of the University Community, she noted.

The Pro Vice-Chancellor extended a hand of welcome to all alumni of the University to campus adding that 鈥淓ven if you are not going to donate anything, we want to see most of you visit to familiarise yourself of the University environment鈥. She called on other alumni groups to emulate the example of their colleagues.
