The 黑料社 Primary School (UPS) has won the 2015 National Junior Graphic Fan Club Spelling Competition which was聽organised聽by the Graphic Communications Group Limited in Accra. Represented by聽Joshuana聽Buerkor聽Nartey, Lord聽Awingur聽and Gilbert聽Kofi聽Eduah, the UPS defeated six other basic schools in the country to be crowned winners. 聽With 63 points, UPS beat聽Falsyd聽Foundation School in the finals held in Accra.
The 黑料社 (UCC) and Dominion University College (DUC) have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) at a short ceremony on campus. The聽MoU聽serves as a reference document that makes 黑料社a mentor institution to聽DUC. Speaking at the signing ceremony, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. D. D.聽Kuupole聽commended聽DUC聽for entering into affiliation with UCC. He noted that affiliation is about partnership and therefore the two institutions should work towards achieving results.
The 黑料社Branch of the University Teachers Association of Ghana (UTAG), has congratulated, Prof. George K. T.聽Oduro聽on his appointment as the Pro-Vice-Chancellor of the University. A statement signed by the Secretary of the association, Dr. David聽Teye聽Doku聽expressed confidence that Prof.聽Oduro聽will bring his expertise and rich experience to bear in the delivery of quality services to members of the association and the entire University.
Ghana鈥檚 President, John Dramani Mahama has appointed a five member Presidential Committee to determine the salaries of Article 71 office holders. The committee will determine the salaries of the President鈥檚 Ministers and political appointees, Members of Parliament (MPs), members of the Council of State, among others. The new committee which was inaugurated by the President will be chaired by Professor Dora Francisca Edu- Buandoh.
The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. D. D. Kuupole has called on the Chief Executive of the Cape Coast Metropolitan Assembly (CCMA), Ms. Priscilla Arhin in her office.
The visit was to discuss issues of mutual benefit to the CCMA and the University.
Welcoming the Vice-Chancellor, Ms. Arhin said she was highly honoured for the visit. She was confident that the assembly and university will continue to collaborate in matters concerning the two institutions.
Three officials from the Bank of Ghana have paid a working visit to the University to examine progress of work at the Language Centre. The three officials from the Bank of Ghana namely, Mr. Benjamin Addo, Mr. Kofi Amponsah Kwatiah and Mr. Papa Daniels in the company of the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. D. D. Kuupole were taken round the facility by the architect of the project, Mr. George Arko Forson. Briefing the team on the progress of work, Mr. Forson said the project was 80% complete. It is expected that the project will be handed over in March, 2016.
The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. D. D. Kuupole has presented law books to the Faculty of Law at a short ceremony at the Academic Board Chamber, North Campus. Presenting the books, Prof. Kuupole said the donation was as a result of a collaboration between 黑料社and the University of Exeter, United Kingdom. He expressed the hope that the books would be put to good use. The Dean of the Faculty of Law who received the books on behalf of the Faculty thanked the Vice-Chancellor for the presentation and the University of Exeter for the donation. 聽
The Dean of the Faculty of Arts, Prof. Dora Francisca Edu- Buandoh has been appointed as the Chairperson of the five-member Presidential Committee appointed to determine the emoluments of Article 71 Office Holders.
Other members of the committee are Professor Kwamena Ahwoi, Dr. William Baah Boateng, Mrs Norkor Duah and Mrs Lydia Bawa.
The Pro-Vice-Chancellor, Prof. George Oduro has entreated academic staff of the five Colleges in the University to use dialogue in addressing challenges facing their work. Prof. Oduro noted that, as a University that prides itself as a centre of excellence, it is prudent for staff to formally write to management or the appropriate office for redress of issues.
